Biliary System
The bile ducts, gall bladder and the associated structures involved in the production and transportation of bile, all together are known as the biliary system.
The biliary system’s main function is to drain waste products from the liver into the duodenum and to help in digestion with the controlled release of bile. Bile is the greenish-yellow fluid, consisting of waste products, cholesterol, and bile salts that is secreted by the liver cells.
Sometimes, there is an occurrence of jaundice, dark urine and lighter stools or both, loss of appetite, fatigue, pain in the upper right side of the abdomen under the rib cage, fever or chills and rapid heartbeat and abrupt blood pressure drop. If patient experiences any of these symptoms, seek medical help immediately.
